The PCV (Positive Crankcase Valve) allows your EA engine to vent crankcase pressure and oil vapors back into the intake, helping the engine breathe correctly and preventing pressure buildup.
A failing or blocked PCV valve can cause:
• Oil being sucked into the air box or carburettor
• Fouled spark plugs and misfires
• Rough or unstable idle
• Burning oil smells
• Increased oil consumption
• Excess crankcase pressure and oil leaks
According to the original Subaru Service Manual, replace the PCV valve every 2 years or 40,000km. Most have NEVER been replaced. This NEW small service part plays a big role in keeping your EA81 or EA82 running clean and smooth.
