When fitting an EJ engine to a Subaru Brumby or L-Series, the ECU may require a speed sensor signal to function properly. Using the factory gearbox, there is no electronic speed output available. Without it, the ECU can go into limp mode and may cause issues such as erratic idle, poor fuel economy, and rough engine operation.
Our GPS Speed Module effectively replaces the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS), converting a GPS signal into a pulse that the EJ ECU can read. The speed pulse is pre-programmed to the correct frequency and tested using a Subaru diagnostic computer. This module is ready to wire in and works immediately, helping prevent common conversion problems.
