These anti-rattle shims (also called pad guides) secure the front brake pads in place. When they’re worn, broken, or missing, the pads can move inside the caliper — causing squealing, knocking on first brake application, and even damage to the brake rotor if a shim becomes dislodged.
Most Brumbys we see have damaged or missing shims due to age or incorrect brake work in the past. Replacing them ensures proper pad alignment and quiet, reliable braking performance.
